Using this small, lightweight pyramid, there are hundreds of hours of free compatible videos available totally for free on YouTube, ranging from little dancing figures to hummingbirds. Searching for “Holoquad” or “holographic video” on YouTube will bring up all of the available options for you, so if you’re unsure whether you’ll actually use this item you have the chance to check out the things beforehand so you don’t waste any money.
To use this neat little device, all you have to do is switch the light off, put the pyramid on your phone and watch the fun unfold.
The pyramid actually has four sides, because rather than having a tip, it’s flat so it can rest of the screen. Using mirrors, this device is able to take what is being shown on your smartphone screen and project it into the black pyramid, so when the lights are off, all you can see is this awesome hologram that seems totally real and 3D right in front of you.
Of course it’s not ideal that you can only use the provided videos that are compatible on YouTube, but it’s not meant to turn everything on your smartphone into a hologram. It’s really just for fun, not serving much of a purpose. But when some places sell it as cheaply as $10, you’re not really wasting much.

Not only do these YouTube videos have the images, but almost all of them are accompanied with some sort of sound, whether it be music or the sound of the hummingbird’s wings, or in the case of the minions, their giggling, singing and laughing.
These holographic pyramids are by no means incredibly high-tech devices, but they’re really fun and can provide hours of entertainment. And ultimately, at under $10, can you really complain? You can wow your friends and family, and apart from anything, sitting in darkness listening to soothing music and watching a holographic earth turn is pretty cool.
