An Honest Jewelry Commercial – The Beauty of “Pangora” Bracelets

I’ve written about quite a few bracelets for someone who doesn’t wear jewelry or accessories of any kind. I’ve just got a “thing” about having things around my wrist, like they’re constricting… or getting in my way in some barely perceivable fashion. It’s strange, but then again, I’m a strange person.

Even so, I think I could be persuaded if the bracelet was functional, ie: had a built in knife, lock pick, or a length of paracord – like some of the bracelets I’ve written about – or if the accessory was a both good looking and thought, a gift from a close friend. I’m yet to see such a thing, but I’m keeping an open mind. The trouble… is that there’s just so much bad stuff out there.

This is what I picture when I imagine someone actually giving me a piece of jewelry.

Pretty accurate, right?

I mean cripe, this is the type of gift I would have given my grandmother as a child. She could have kept it beside the stack of jewelry boxes and unused candles she accumulated after many years of being my grandmother. Yes, I’m sorry grandma, I’ve been rather thoughtless in the gift department.

Yes, the point of this was to show you a funny video clip about a type of bracelet I personally despise (after all, I sold them for years), but I also like to have a point every now and again… something to make you think. So here is what I’ll say: treat clothing and accessories like tattoos. Get them sparingly, and make absolutely certain that they match your personality, or the personality of the person you’re gifting them too.

Trust me on this one. Take a bit of time to really consider the jewelry or accessory you’ve got your eye on, and I promise you, half the time you’ll realize you don’t even want the bloody thing. That means that when you actually do pick up a fancy new watch, ring, or garrote bracelet, it will be something that you truly want.
