Muhammad Ali celebrated his 70th birthday in January and to commemorate the occasion, IWC Schaffhausen auctioned a special edition watch at the annual Celebrity Fight Night in Phoenix, Arizona. The one-off timepiece is called IWC Muhammad Ali Big Pilot’s watch.
This one of a kind watch comes in a white gold case and features a black dial with red Super-Luminova applied to the three hands and hour markers. The case-back features special engravings and Muhammad Ali’s signature. The IWC Muhammad Ali Big Pilot’s watch comes with a black alligator strap with red lining and is powered by IWC caliber 51111 automatic movement and has a 7-day power reserve. The watch comes in a package with a book, “GOAT – Greatest Of All Time”, which features over 3,000 pictures and illustrations of the champ by more than 150 artists and photographers.
The Celebrity Fight Night is an organization/event founded in 1994 by Jimmy Walkers to raise money for local charities. Over $70 million has been raised since 1994, with the Mohammad Ali Parkinson Center the primay beneficiary. At Saturday’s event, the IWC Muhammad Ali Big Pilot’s watch was auctioned off for $60,000.
