Jaguar has been hinting at bringing a crossover to the market for a while now, they finally unveiled the C-X17 Sports Crossover at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Jaguar C-X17 is a concept for now, but it looks production ready to us and should be hitting the showrooms in the next year or two.
Jaguar has said the C-X17 production SUV will not be based on a Land Rover model and the C-X17 will be smaller than the Range Rover Sport and bigger than the Range Rover Evoque.
The C-X17 concept is distinctively Jaguar, with styling that reminds me of the XF/XJ at the front, and the F-Type at the rear. I’m a huge fan of these cars; so naturally, I already like the SUV version of these cars. The styling is very sporty, with an athletic stance, and the overall package is very well executed. The C-X17 does remind me a bit of the Mazda CX-5 CUV, maybe because the names are similar or the C-X17 pictured here’s is blue (Mazda uses blue CX-5’s in their promotional material), or maybe they do look a bit a like?
The interior on the C-X17 is very minimalist and would definitely not look like this on the production version of this vehicle. The interior features Jaguar’s signature pop-up gear knob and two LED touchscreens to control the various functions. Via: Jaguar
