The current generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is a pretty nice looking SUV. It looks very refined, and has a luxurious interior; overall a much better package than what it replaces and it. It also offers Jeep’s legendary off-road capabilities. Jeep has created a special version of the Grand Cherokee for those that want a little extra oomph from their SUV and want an aggressive/sporty vehicle.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is that creation and it’s a monster of an SUV. Powered by a naturally aspirated 6.4 liter HEMI V8 engine that produces a muscle car-like 465 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, the result is a 0 – 60 mph sprint of just 4.8 seconds.
The Grand Cherokee SRT8 comes with Jeep’s Quadra-Track four-wheel drive system that can send all of the power to one rear wheel when needed in slippery conditions or those hard off road obstacles. The powerful SUV also comes with fuel saving technology that shuts down 4 of the cylinders when all those ponies are not needed, saving you a few extra bucks at the pump.
The SRT8 Grand Cherokee is set apart from the regular Grand Cherokee by a lower stance, by 1 inch, and body color matching fender flares. The SRT8 gets an aggressive front bumper with integrated LED day-time running lights and large air vents, a new rear bumper with an integrated diffuser and dual exhaust tips, and a new rear spoiler also adds to the sporty look of this SUV. The SRT8 also gets a sculpted hood with a pair of deep air vents to keep the V8 cool.
The interior is pretty luxurious and features Nappa leather covered front bucket seats with suede inserts, carbon fiber trim on the dashboard and door panels, SRT gauges, and leather covered heated steering wheel.
