Kisha: The World’s First Smart Umbrella

In the world of smart phones, watches, thermostats, and everything else you could think of, one would expect to see a smart umbrella by now; okay, not really expect to see one, but here it is anyway.

The Kisha smart umbrella takes the dumb umbrella to the next level and brings it into 21st century. Living in the rainy city of Vancouver, carrying an umbrella is a must if you don’t want to look like a wet dog. Because of our climate, we have reviewed quite a few umbrellas in the past.

The biggest concern for me, when I’m carrying an expensive umbrella, is that I sometimes forget it bring it back with me when I enter buildings such as restaurants, offices, or even cars, never to see it again. Kisha takes care of that problem by using a built-in Bluetooth device in the umbrella. The Bluetooth device connects to an app on IOS or Android powered smartphone, and alerts you when you’ve left the umbrella behind. The umbrella comes with a “home” feature, so it doesn’t nag you if you’ve left it at home. The app is also connected to a weather service letting you know if it will rain that day and whether you should take the umbrella with you.

The umbrella measures 36.22” from ferrlue to crook handle and 42.51” from tip to tip and comes with a three year warranty. The Kisha smart umbrella is also pretty reasonably priced at $59. [Buy It]
