When I was a kid, I was told to brush side to side but that changed when I got a bit older and it was then circular motions. And then changed once more to up and down motions. What I’m describing may seem like sexual motions but I assure you I’m referring to brushing of the teeth. Dental hygiene is pretty damn important and not taking proper care can really affect the quality of life from limiting what types of foods you eat to how cold or hot the food can be. And I especially try to take care of my teeth after dropping so much money on my Invisalign treatment.
And remember, your mouth is also a gateway to the rest of your body. The Kolibree Toothbrush is a sonic brush which not only cleans but also tracks your cleaning. This smart toothbrush connects to your smartphone to upload your brushing data and keeps track to shows you if you are brushing your teeth “correctly”, if such a thing exists. The available app for download creates a fun and educational brushing experience for young children using a variety of games. The idea is to use the games to encourage consistent brushing and learning good brushing habits step by step.
The Kolibree toothbrush is equipped with sensors so that it can record movements and the areas brushed and then sends this information to the app in real-time. This feature is kind of cool because I always try to get the back corners of my teeth but how do I know if it’s really effective in getting anything? This way, at least I can compare what I think I’m doing and what I’m really doing.
The device is turned on/off with a single button but the app controls the various brushing modes available. You only need one device for the family and keep track of each member individually through the application. And this way, your kids can’t lie about whether they’ve brushed their teeth or not. Each family member will have their own brush head.
The Kolibree toothbrush is available for $129.99 and will start delivering in October of this year.
My suggestion for this product would be the ability to detect the amount of “bad bacteria” in the mouth before and after brushing. This way, you really know if you’re doing a proper job.
