Most of us mere mortals could never afford to buy an exotic car like the all-new Lamborghini Aventador or a Ferrari 458 Italia. Some of us settle for the next best thing, a scale model by Hot Wheels or some other toy/scale model manufacturer. However, if you are looking to buy a Lamborghini Aventador scale model, more specifically, the one created by German model maker Robert Gulpan, be prepared to sell your soul to the devil.
The 1:8 scale model by Mr. Gulpan will cost you at least $4.7 million, yes, you read that right, which far exceeds the price of 10 Lamborghini Aventadors (a real working one has a starting price of around $379,000).
So what’s so special about this car? Well, for starters, it is a one of a kind and you don’t have to worry about buying expensive fuel for it or worry about crashing it, unless you play with it. Other features of the scale model include carbon fiber body and chassis, which is lined with 1/1000 mm thread of solid gold. Everything is hand-crafted and the seats, wheels, and the headlights have diamonds in them; you don’t get diamonds in the real Lamborghini Aventador. This scale model also holds the record for the world’s most expensive model car.
The Lamborghini Aventador scale model will be put up for auction at Sotheby’s in December with a starting bid of $4.7 million. I’m sure a lot of bankers and oil tycoons will be lining up to own this awesome toy, or not.
