My girlfriend upgraded to an iPhone 7 a few weeks ago. Specifically, she got the iPhone 7 Plus so she can use it as a sort of phone/tablet hybrid. She travels quite a bit for her work and the larger screen makes it easy for her to watch movies and follow up on e-mails.
Alas, she was hesitant to get a case for it. I begged her to get one. “Look at it! I said. “Look at how big the screen is! I mean, it’s awesome, but one drop and it’s going to obliterate!”
“I don’t want to cover it up, though!” she said. “I got the pink one because I want to see it!”
The next day, our dog jumped up and knocked it out of her hand. The screen didn’t work so well with a zillion jagged cracks running through it. Thankfully, she has coverage through Apple and they quickly got her all fixed up with a new one.
As you can imagine, we immediately started shopping for iPhone 7 Plus cases. I pointed her to Case Haven, the store where I bought the case for my phone.
A Case for My Phone? Never a Question!
I have reliably encased every single phone I’ve ever owned once we moved from the days of the bulky flip-phone and into sleek, slim smartphones. Why? Simply put – I’m a klutz. I drop my phone all the time. It falls out of my pocket when I’m trying to fish it out. One time, it fell out of my pocket while I was going full-speed on a bike. Thankfully, my girlfriend was riding behind me and noticed it take flight. Our dog has knocked my phone off the bed and carried it around in his mouth. (Thankfully, he’s not much of a chewer.)
Which reminds me: in addition to a drop-proof case, a waterproof case is also a must for me. I decided this after I dropped my phone in the toilet. (Don’t ask. After letting it sit in a bowl of rice and thoroughly sanitizing it, it survived, but… Ick.) After that, I only purchased waterproof iPhone cases.
Protection and Style
Since my girlfriend wanted to show off her gorgeous new pink iPhone 7 Plus, we looked around for something that would provide great protection while still allowing her phone to shine through. A Clear Silicone Protective Bumper Case was just the ticket. It’s a lightweight case, so it doesn’t add a lot of additional weight to her already-large phone. The bumpers on the corners provide better protection than a regular snap-on clear case. Best of all, it’s see-through, so her phone is visible and can be admired by all.
You know the first thing that happened as soon as she got her phone installed into its new case? She grabbed the dog leash off its hook and our big, goofy dog got excited, jumped up, and slammed the phone out of her hand – AGAIN. This time, it survived without even a ding.
And that’s why I preach the gospel of phone cases, people. Between bikes, dogs, and toilets, it’s a dangerous world out there.
