When someone mention the name of European luxury/exotic car tuning firm Mansory, I instantly think of all the cars the company has bastardized in the name of “tuning”. They are famous for turning perfectly good exotic cars into some of the gaudiest things I’ve ever seen.
But sometimes their designers put the Kool-Aid down and tune some pretty decent vehicles. Their latest creation is the Mansory S63 AMG Coupe Diamond Edition. The car looks pretty decent from the outside, the inside is another story.
The S63 Coupe Diamond Edition is painted in matte blue and comes with various body modifications. The car is equipped with a new front bumper, a vented hood, wider body with wheel arches, a new rear bumper, and carbon fiber roof and trunk mounted spoilers. The car rides on gloss-black 22” wheels with 255/30 front and 295/25 rear tires.
Under the hood resides the beastly 5.5 liter turbocharged V8 engine, but in this guise, it produces a massive amount of power that would put many supercars to shame. The regular S63 AMG Coupe’s V8 produces 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, the Mansory tuned version pumps out 972 HP and an electronically limited 1,032 pound-feet of torque!! The S63 Diamond Edition sprints to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds (1 second quicker than the standard S63 Coupe) and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph.
The team in charge of the interior opted to keep drinking the Kool-Aid; the interior is not too bad looking but the color choice will leave you blind. But then again, there might be some billionaires/millionaires who prefer gaudy interiors.
Every surface in the interior has been re-wrapped with very soft and luxurious looking leather. In addition to the seats, the dashboard, the door panels, parts of the steering wheel, the headliner, and even the carpets are covered with leather! Mansory also put in some sort of shinny black accent with blue highlights on some of the accent pieces.
The Mansory tuned Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe Diamond Edition could have been a pretty good package, were it not for the choice of interior colors. But this type of stuff is subjective and maybe I’m just being too harsh on the tuner…
