Mass Effect 3 is just days away from release, and we’ll finally be able to experience the epic conclusion to this incredible saga. If you weren’t excited enough already, this Mass Effect 3 launch trailer should be just the thing to tip you over the edge. It’s fierce, it’s mean, it’s got lots of explosions… and it has partial nudity!
Featuring 2 minutes of new footage, this trailer shows us war ravaged Earth as the Reapers do their best to decimate the planet and all of its inhabitants. As per usual, there’s only one person who can stop them. Are you a bad enough dude to save planet Earth?
Mass Effect 3 – Launch Trailer
When I played the first Mass Effect so many years ago, I really didn’t enjoy it. I felt there was a certain generic quality about the game that wasn’t able to draw me in. After reluctantly giving Mass Effect 2 a try, though, I changed my tune. I found the game world a lot more interesting, and everything simply had more character than in Mass Effect.
Mass Effect 3 looks even more detailed, and I have high hopes that I’ll enjoy it even more than I did Mass Effect 2. The graphics are noticeably improved, and providing they can keep up the same level as storytelling from the second game, I think ME3 will be a worthy conclusion to the series. I’m really interested to see how Bioware decided to wrap everything up.
Trailer Highlights
Word on the street is that they’re even releasing a day one DLC called “From Ashes“. Apparently Bioware has worked on it for the last 3 months, and though not integral to the story, will feature the return of a signifcant race from the last game. I have no idea which race it is for sure, though the rumor is that it’s the Protheans. I also know that many fans of the series are pissed off with Bioware’s decision to release the DLC on day one, and for $10 no less. It’s a big chunk of change for people who already plunked down quite a bit to buy the game day one, so the content had better be worth it.
Mass Effect 3 arrives on Tuesday, March 6th for PC, Xbox360, and PS3. If I ever manage to pry myself away from it, I’ll make sure to do a full Mass Effect 3 Review.
