The all-new Mercedes-AMG E63S is not your average grocery-getting sedan, it’s a sports car that thinks it’s a sedan… or is it a muscle car that thinks it’s a sedan? I think it’s all of the above. It’s also very luxurious, so you could call it a limousine like Matthias Malmedie and Helge Thomsen called it in the video below.
The Mercedes-AMG E63S 4Matic is powered by a handcrafted 4.0 liter bitrubo V8 engine that produces 603 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and 627 pound-feet of torque between 2,500 – 4,500 rpm, which is more horsepower than most supercars had only a few years ago, so maybe this car is a supercar? Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. Based on Mattias and Helge’s reaction, I would say they definitely felt it!
All this power is great, but if you can’t put the power down to the pavement, then you’re just going to do burnouts and not go anywhere. That’s where Michelin tires come in. The E63S comes equipped with sticky Michelin tires that not only provide grip on twisty roads, they’re also great for traveling at very high speeds. Of course, we’re law abiding citizens and don’t condone speeding on public roads… but if you happen to visit Germany and spend some time on the autobahn, then you’re in luck, as these Michelin tires will keep you planted to the road at speeds of 200 km/h and higher. So for all you Germans reading this, you know what you have to do.
You don’t think a large luxury sedan like this can travel at high speeds? Watch the video below and see how fast Matthias takes the E63S, while Helge is busy watching a Mercedes-AMG technician build one of these handcrafted V8 engines. If you’re an auto enthusiast that loves to see what goes into these cars, then you’re in for a real treat. Seeing this beast hit the road is pretty impressive too.
