Whether you were a fan of the Transformers cartoon series, the movies, or both; you’ll surely appreciate the Memorigin Transformers Tourbillon watch collection. The limited edition watches are offered as Bumblebee or Optimus Prime; as far as we know, these watches do not transform into giant robots.
Now if you haven’t heard of the watchmaker Memorigin, you’re not alone. The company is based in Hong Kong and makes high-end watches, they’re slowly moving into the North American and European markets. Memorigin previously gave the world watches such as the “Superman Tourbillon” and “Batman Dark Knight Rises Tourbillon”.
The watches feature either Optimus Prime or Bumblebee’s metal face on the dial, with a tourbillon placed at the 6 o’clock position. There are 8 jewels placed around the watch, representing the hour markers, and two as the eyes of the autobots.
The Memorigin Optimus Prime Tourbillon watch comes in a metallic silver finish, including the dial. The 10 jewels on this watch are blue sapphires and the watch comes with blue hands. The watch comes with a blue crocodile leather strap with red stitches.
The Memorigin Bumblebee Tourbillon watch comes in a black stainless steel case, with a yellow/gold dial. The 10 jewels on this watch include 8 yellow diamonds and 2 blue sapphires for the eyes. The watch comes with silver hands and a yellow crocodile strap with black stitches.
As far as the “cool factor”, I think these watches are not too bad, the dials do look a little busy but these are transformer watches, there’s bound to be exposed and scary looking metal on them.
The watches come in 43 mm stainless steel cases with sapphire crystal on the front and back. The watches are powered by Chinese caliber HB 0626 mechanical hand-wound movements with 40 hours of power reserve.
