Most of you familiar with Unfinished Man know how much we love the Mercedes G Class SUV (Gelandewagen); we love its box shape and off-road capabilities. Mercedes-Benz now gives us even more reason to love the G-Wagon with two new special edition models called the G Class BA3 Final Edition and the G Class Edition Select.
The G Class BA3 Final Edition is based on the short-wheel-base 2-door (or 3-door) model and as the name would suggest, it is the final production version of the smaller Gelandewagen that has been in production for over three decades. I’m sad to see it go and it is too bad they don’t offer this model in North America.
The BA3 Final Edition comes with either the 6-cylinder Blue TEC diesel engine (G350) producing 211 horsepower and 398 pound-feet (540 Nm) of torque or the 5.5 liter 8-cylinder gasoline engine (G500) that produces 388 horsepower and 391 pound-feet (530 Nm) of torque. Both these engines are equipped with 7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic transmissions, electronically controlled traction, ESP, and three differential locks.
On the outside, the upgrades include AMG fender flares and five-twin-spoke rims wrapped in 265/60 R18 rubber. The interior upgrades include a sunroof and chrome trim pieces around the speakers, seat adjustment buttons, and the gear lever cover.
The Mercedes G Class BA3 Final Edition will cost €90,551 for the G 350 Blue TEC version and €100,685 for the G 500 gasoline version.
The G Class Edition Select is based on the G500 full-sized SUV and it comes in obsidian black metallic, palladium silver metallic, designo mystic white, and thulite red metallic body colors. This model also gets the AMG wide fender flares and five-twin-spoke rims that are painted black along with black painted rear-view mirrors. For a bit of increase in power and a better sound, an AMG sports exhaust systems has been installed. The interior gets the same chrome treatment as the BA3 version and can also be equipped with two-tone upholstery.
The Mercedes G Class Edition Select package is priced at €6,735 (on top the standard price of the G500).
