The average 600cc sport bike is more has more than enough power for the average guy/girl, but you can get bigger and much more powerful sport bikes for the street. Racing versions of these bikes are absolutely potent, but the ultimate in motorcycles/racing are the bikes from MotoGP, which are incredibly advanced, powerful, and fast.
Now you too can ride like the boys of MotoGP on the streets. Honda is offering a street version of their championship winning RC213V bikes, ridden by Dani Pedrossa and Marc Marquez; called the Honda RC213V-S (the “S” stands for street).
Minimal changes were made to the bikes to keep the experience as close to the MotoGP experience, the street versions using a traditional 6-speed sequential transmission instead of the seamless shifting transmission and a few other changes were made.
The Honda RC213V-S is powered by the same 1.0 liter liquid-cooled V4 engine found on the MotoGP bike, producing 157 horsepower and 75 pound-feet of torque in this guise instead of 235 HP in the racing bike; that’s still a hell of a lot of power. But if that’s not enough, Honda is also offering a track-only version of the bike, not available in North America, that has 212 HP and 87 pound-feet of torque. The street version of the RC213V-S weighs 375 pounds, while the track-only version weighs 353 pounds, which is pretty close to the 348 pounds weight of the MotoGP bike.
The Honda RC213V-S street-legal MotoGP bikes are priced at a cool $184,000 in the United States, Honda will start taking orders on July 13, 2015.
