South Korean automakers, Kia and Hyundai, have been extremely busy these last few years with introducing fantastic cars to the market. And they have done it once again by releasing official photographs of its brand new flagship sedan, the KH or K9, which will be launched in South Korea summer of 2012.
Initially, the sedan was referred to as the ‘KH’ but Kia has now confirmed that it will be named ‘K9’ in South Korean market. No word on the exact release date for other markets or the official export name. With that being said, Kia is asking their facebook fans for help in naming the sedan.
The Kia K9 is based on the same RWD BH platform as the Hyundai Genesis and Equus which should suggest the use of the 5.0-liter V8 as an option along side with the 3.8-liter V6 and 4.6-liter V8 as potential engine options.
The K9 is a very handsome looking sedan and it might have to do with the fact that it “borrowed” some design cues from the BMW 7-Series such as the headlamp accents and the bend in the C-pillar. But it doesn’t really matter since the two cars cater to different markets. We’ll update as more details of the Kia K9 emerge.
Looks pretty much like the BMW 5 GT…
Fucking copies! 😀
