Omega watches are synonymous with British super-spy James Bond but that wasn’t always the case. Omega watches were first worn by Agent 007 in 1995 by Pierce Brosnan in the movie GoldenEye. Since then, all James Bond movies feature an Omega watch and the latest movie, Skyfall, is no exception- arriving in theaters in November 2012.
The 23rd movie in the franchise will feature Daniel Craig as the British spy and will be wearing a limited edition Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Skyfall watch. The watch is limited to 5,007 pieces and will come in a special presentation case.
The limited edition Skyfall watch comes in a 42 mm brushed and polished case with a matching bracelet and a diver’s clasp with “007” logo engraved on it. The watch dial features a black ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel and sapphire crystal. The dial is black with large hour markers that are coated with white Super-LumiNova that emit blue light and the minute hand emits green light in the dark. The date window is located at the standard 3 o’clock position and a “007” logo is placed at the 7 o’clock position.
The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Skyfall watch is powered by an Omega co-axial calibre 8507 self-winding automatic movement that is visible through a sapphire crystal case-back. The rotor on the movement features “SKYFALL 007” engraving. The watch is water-resistant to 600 meters/2,000 feet and comes with a helium escape valve.
