Sometimes you’re walking around and wish you had some utensils, like a knife. However, where you mostly find yourself wanting extra items it’s when camping or hiking. Camping or hiking can be tons of fun, but let’s be honest: there are lots of things that can go wrong and lots of times you find you need something that you actually didn’t bring. While chances are you’ll be fine, that’s not a risk you necessarily want to take. Apart from safety reasons, it’s just nice to have so many tools and so much ability with one tiny item.
You’re probably wondering ok then, what’s this tiny item. It’s a belt. It may not sound like much, but the Survival Belt from Side Belt is a pretty awesome innovation that takes adventuring to a whole new level. When you’re carrying around so much as it is, the last thing you want to do is bring unnecessary items or things that add bulk or weight, and that’s why this belt is so awesome. It takes those things and puts it into one, small, easy to transport item.
So what does the Survival Belt actually have? Well, for starters, it’s a belt, which is pretty awesome to begin with. That’s one thing it can actually do. Its width is 1.5” and it comes in one size that fits a waist up to 48”. However, you can trim it for the perfect fit, so don’t worry about having too much belt leftover once you find your true size.
Other features include a bottle opener, aluminum LED flashlight (which is powered by batteries that you will need to replace if you use it a lot), a dual lever for easy clipping on and removing, AUS-8 stainless steel knife and a ferrocerium fire starter rod that unlike matches, still functions when it’s wet. It’s also got internal webbing that provides almost 1500 PSI of tensile strength, continuous notches to find your perfect fit, durable coating that makes it waterproof, frost flex, UV protected, abrasion resistant and easy to clean.
It’s also heat resistant up to 214 degrees Fahrenheit. Other things you can use this for is to actually use the belt to pick things up and drag things or use it to hang stuff from trees if you find you need to get your food out of the way.
This belt has so many practical uses and the fact you only need to put it on your body to have it with you makes it the most portable utility item ever. While swiss army knives can also be really useful, they can also be really bulky and take up space in your pocket.
It costs $150, but it’s well worth the money. The belt also comes in four colors so you’re bound to find something that works for you. There’s black, tan, olive drab and classic brown.
