Independent watchmaker Voutilainen has showcased their one-off timepiece to be auctioned at the Only Watch 2015 event. Kari Voutilainen creates a very small number of watches every year, each one being completely hand made, so this watch should fetch a pretty good price for research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The unique timepiece is the Voutilainen GMT-6, measuring 39 mm wide and is finished in stainless steel with a black leather strap. The dial features Grand-Feu enamel finish in blue and grey. One of the unique aspects of this watch is its GMT subdial at 6 o’clock. This GMT dial not only houses a second timezone, it also displays the minutes. The second timezone is placed on a rotating disc, at the center of which is a day and night indicator.
The back of the watch give us a view of the beautiful mechanical movement and the really big balance wheel. The movement features Voutilainen’s direct impulse escapement with a pair of escape wheels, instead of a single escape wheel.
The Voutilainen GMT-6 watch will be put up for auction on November 7, 2015 at the 2015 Only Watch charity auction in Geneva, Switzerland. Via: Voutilainen
