These umbrellas will not be cheap. Estimated at around $70, these umbrellas will be released in October. Your Oombrella does more than what we just said above though. We all know that weather forecasts can’t always be trusted, but the Oombrella is actually a portable weather station, so it can accurately predict whether it’s going to rain and it knows exactly how long until it’s going to rain, therefore can tell you if you need to remember to bring it.
The Oombrella will send you notifications when it’s going to rain, but it also know when you’re about to leave it behind because the proximity will begin to increase. If you’ve left it behind at a restaurant, it will send you a notification reminding you about it as soon as you stray more than 100-130 feet away. So at least that $70 won’t be wasted due to lost property.
The Oombrella will come in three different colors, the most impressive being the shiny addition, which the company says is like “holding the aurora borealis in your hand.” It changes colors depending on the light and it really is a very striking look. However, if that’s not up your alley you will also be able to buy it in white and black.
The umbrella will also come in two different sizes: a bag size, which has a straight handle and is only 25cm long and the “classic large size,” which has the rounded handle and is 95cm long.
As if this device isn’t totally awesome as it is, it also has a weather sharing feature so all of the community around you can see what the weather you’re experiencing is and can decide whether it’s going to rain where they are as well. Additionally, the umbrella will be UV resistant and windproof.
Umbrellas have never been so exciting, and although it’s a bit pricey for an umbrella, the Oombrella is definitely giving you your moneys worth.
