It was 10 years ago when watchmaker Parmigiani Fleurier teamed up with carmaker Bugatti to create some very unique and expensive timepieces. Over the last decade, there have been quite a few watches produced in the partnership. To celebrate the 10 year partnership, the watchmaker is releasing three one of a kind watches at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance car show.
The first watch is the Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Mythe. The Bugatti Mythe takes its design inspirations from the first watch the collaboration produced, the Parmigiani Bugatti Type 307.
The Bugatti Mythe watch is not so much for time telling, but rather a showcase of the craftsmanship and the creativity of the watchmaker. Looking at this watch as you would a regular watch, only provides you a view of the beautifully handcrafted mechanical movement; the window displaying time is on the side. This part of the watch is pretty simple, with a pair of hands and Parmigiani and Bugatti emblems.
The entire watch is like a cylinder, or more like the see-through trunk of the Bugatti Veyron supercar, showing you the inside of the engine bay. The case, or cylinder, is made out of 18k rose gold and measures 52.5mm wide, 18.6 mm high, and 32.4 mm wide; attached to the wrist with a black leather strap.
The Parmigiani Bugatti Mythe watch is powered by an in-house hand-wound Caliber PF370 mechanical movement with 10 days of power reserve. The movement consists of 314 components and beats at 3Hz.
The one of a kind Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Mythe watch is priced similar to a supercar, with a price tag of $430,000. Via: PF
