Ok so many of you reading are probably saying……..oh Eddie not another review! But I feel it is my duty to use this platform to tell you all what you are missing out on!
Food…what does it mean to us? I hear many people say that that they ‘eat to live’, I prefer to ‘live to eat’, I am constantly searching for the best of everything, the best coffee, best fried chicken, best donuts and today I bring you (drum roll) the best pastries!
For those of you who live or have been to Seattle, I am sure you are well aware of ‘Pike Place Market’. There is a wide variety of unique and home made flavors to choose from, a far cry from the franchise type fast food so readily available. Among this variety is ‘Piroshky, Piroshky’, a Russian bakery specializing in Pirozhki (small stuffed pies) which are baked and can be filled with a variety of different stuffing’s.
Whether you are fan of the sweet, or the savory, there is an option that suits your taste buds. The tantalizing aroma was enough to keep me in line for 15 minutes waiting to be served and I definitely was not disappointed! I ordered the ‘Beef and Cheese’ pie as well as a ‘Beef and Onion’ for the road. J These hand pies had just the right amount of crispiness and fluffiness. While the pies are delicious, I did find them to be a bit on the greasy side and it would be great if the store had a more health conscious option.
Besides the fantastic taste, you are also guaranteed freshness. What I really liked was that while you wait in line, you can actually watch the employees working through see through windows making everything from scratch.
The small bakery has been serving these great treats since 1992. At $4.90 a piece, it may not be a bargain but I still believe it was money well spent. If you happen to be in the Seattle area, I would highly recommend the market as well as Pirosky, Pirosky.
Thank you so much for visiting us and writing such a wonderful article!
