I don’t watch a whole lot of television, but I am quite passionate about the few shows that I do watch. After all, I only watch the best of the best, so might as well go the distance with them.
There’s a problem with this whole, thing. You see, I’ve been watching these shows with the knowledge that I’m seeing them first. No, not before anyone else exactly… but still immediately, the moment that they’re available. Unfortunately, as I learned a mere two hours ago, the whole lot of them, from Game of Thrones to Breaking Bad, were all actually launched in the early 90s on minor family television networks in the United States. Crazy, right? Read on…
De-making Popular Television
Each of these shows is now exceedingly popular, but when they were launched the first time, they didn’t even make it a single season. Here are the trailers for the following shows. I have a feeling you’re going to recognize them.
Game of Thrones in 1995
The music might be a little different, but the actors are all the same, and many of the scenes look almost identical! Are “they” simply using the exact same footage for the current version of the show?
Aside from the themes and characters, there’s another thing that hasn’t changed: HBO still makes their shows incredibly annoying to consume for anyone that actually lives in, you know… modern times. If I could just use basic Virgin TV and broadband packages to grab all the episodes, I would be a happy man indeed. Anyway, on with the show… so to speak.
The Walking Dead in 1995
Incredible how well all the actors have aged since this version of The Walking Dead first aired back in 95′. Especially frightening are the children. Are they escapees from Never Never Land? I don’t like children, especially ones that never age.
Breaking Bad in 1995
The original version of this show pre-dates even Malcolm in the Middle. If only they knew then what they know now…
Why Didn’t I Hear about This?
I’m a child of the 80s, and was subjected to all of the most terrible television aired since that point. So why hadn’t I seen any of these shows until recently? Well, it’s obvious that a conspiracy is afoot by the networks… one to cover up these shows which so shamed them for reasons unknown. If not for the likes of Hunter L Sanders and Goesto Eleven, these never would have seen the light of day.
Oh man, these are pretty awesome! Very well done.
Yeah, they’re great. I’m really hoping these guys decide to do a few more.
