Review: Braun cruZer Body

Not all men are created equal when it comes to having hair on their body. Some men are spic and span clean while others appear to be the offspring of a Sasquatch. Thanks to the engineers at Braun and their ingenuity, all men can rejoice and have a clean body.

The new Braun Cruzer Body (Cruzer 6) is a 3 in 1 trimmer that will leave your whole body smooth as babies behind. This new design adds a Gillette Fusion shaving blade cartridge to the back of the trimmer to really smooth out your skin, if need be.

Here are some of the accessories the Cruzer 6 comes with:

• 2 Gillette Fusion cartridges
• 3 attachments (sensitive, medium, long) if you don’t feel like going for the baby smooth feel
• A case to hang the trimmer in the shower
• A charger, so you don’t have to waste money with batteries
• A carrying case to put everything in one place for travel

When I first received the product, the first thing that caught me off guard was the weight. I was expecting something heavy and bulky but the Cruzer 6 is light and won’t hurt your wrist. Inspecting the trimmer, I saw 3 different trim settings. Changing through the 3 trim setting is smooth. After the initial 12 hour charge (50 minute continuous use), I turned on the trimmer and realized how quiet it was. The trimmer has small, fine edge teeth to make it quiet and provides a smoother feel on the skin.

I don’t have a lot of hair on my chest but enough that I do clean it. In setting 1, I used it on my chest; the cut was so very close to the skin and also very smooth. The hair came off like butter thanks to the design of the trimmer teeth. The beauty of this trimmer is, is that it can be used in wet or dry. The next setting is 1+2 which integrates the Gillette Fusion razor blade with the trimmer. As you run the trimmer vertically, the blade follows behind and shaves off any stubble, just like how you would shave your face. This leaves your body extra smooth. This setting is recommended in the shower as there’s a lot of water available for a smoother shave. The last setting is 2, which is just the Gillette Fusion blade. If you want to skip settings 1 and 1+2 all together and go for that smooth feel from the get go.

The 3 attachments available with the trimmer will help you groom your man hood or just trim your hair to a level where you can use the trimmer for a cleaner cut.

After using the Braun Cruzer Body, I love the end result. It leaves your body looking and feeling smooth and the job is done quickly. With the light weight and quiet trimmer, this Cruzer 6 is definitely traveling with me everywhere. The only thing I would change on this trimmer is the Gillette Fusion cartridge. As every man knows, those 5 blades cartridges are not cheap. Braun should have used something a little more affordable for the average man.
