Recently, our geeky friends over at Geek Extreme introduced you to the IDAPT i1ECco, device chargerwhere you can use it to charge two gadgets at once. The creative team at IDAPT has pledged to keep making new ones as more devices roll off the line.
The IDAPT i4 is yet another clever and affordable universal charging system, that claims to be truly universal – the standard set comes with a micro USB, mini USB, standard USB, Apple tips, Nokia 2, and Samsung 4, but many more can be added. More than 20 different charging tips are available at IDAPT that it claims can power 4,500 different mobile electronic devices including the iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Nintendo DS, PSP, GPS systems, digital cameras, and Bluetooth products.
Occupying only one outlet, it can charge 4 mobile devices simultaneously. The charger is also compatible with major brands of mobile phones, Mp3 players, ebooks, portable gaming devices, chargeable AA and AAA batteries, GPS devices, cameras, controllers and tablets etc. The IDAPT i4’s conveniently interchangeable tip system makes it completely customizable. Besides the three charging points on the base, there is an additional USB charging point on the right of the base, giving you freedom from the mess of tangled cords or the need for more than one outlet. Each opening for interchangeable tips has two eject buttons and a power indicator LED that glows red for charging or green for standby.
The ingenious interchangeable tip system is not only compatible with most of the currently available devices but promises to be adaptable to future devices. The base charging station has a scratch-protected surface and allows you to disconnect the charger when not in use with an on/off switch.
The IDAPT Universal Charger i4 measures 3.2 by 16.9 by 13.5 centimeters and is light weight weighing only 300 grams. The plastic body is sturdy and has small rubber feet on the bottom. The detachable power cable extends from the back of the base plate.
The issue of pod spacing for devices that charge horizontally could be resolved by being creative while charging multiple devices as the back two are too close to each other or else IDAPT can place these in a zigzag fashion when the next batch rolls in.
