It’s been a long time since anyone released an Aliens movie. No, I don’t count the Aliens vs Predators films, as they were mostly trash. I mean a true Aliens film, and preferably by a talented director such as, oh… I don’t know, maybe Ridley Scott? Well, today we get our wish, kind of.
This is a poster for a new Ridley Scott directed film called Prometheus. Details are sparse, but apparently he’s been working on this for quite some time, and filming is wrapping up on his set in Iceland. The film isn’t a true Aliens movie, but it does take place before any of the Alien films, and presumably in the same universe. We also know that H.R. Giger was involved in the process, though to what extent I have no idea.

There isn’t a lot of information to go on, but I’m really excited that Ridley Scott is putting out a new film. I’ve enjoyed almost everything he’s directed, and given my perpetual hankering for good science fiction, I have no doubt that I’ll enjoy Prometheus as well.
There’s currently no known release date, but I’ll post updates as they become available.
