Just yesterday, I wrote about the Scion tC RS 9.0 which was created with the help of Cartel Customs. The Scion FR-S T1 is another project created with the help of Cartel Customs which is even better and sexier in preparation for the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Car manufacturers have seem to forgotten about Targas or perhaps it was the sunroof that killed the T-Top trend. Either way, the Scion FR-S Targa is looking fantastic.
Cartel Customs chopped the middle of the roof off and installed a new body kit consisting of a new front & rear bumpers, wider fenders, new side skirts, rear air diffuser and central exhaust system, and last but not least a stylish lip spoiler on the trunk. The FR-S T1 features a black targa top while the rest of the body is finished in a custom Azzuro California Blue paint job.
The vehicle also features a KW coilover suspension setup which lowers the ride height and sits on 19-inch forged wheels. Under the hood, a Greddy street turbo kit can be found to increase the power as the stock FR-S is only 200 horsepower. Other goodies include a Wilwood Big Brake Kit and an OEM Audio+ 400 along with a Pioneer AVIC-8000NEX head unit for entertainment.
Scion xB
The second customized vehicle by Scion in collaboration with Scott Kanemura of KMA Productions is the x Ripley Hawk Skate Tour xB. This Scion xB may look like a camper van but as you can see, skateboarding is the theme here. This customized xB features wood-grain interior, a mini fridge, some amazing shag carpet, an 8-track player, Pioneer sound system, and even the ability to play a guitar via the audio system using an iPad mini as the mixer. They even installed a cargo box with an INNO rack system to allow for the storage of skateboards.
Not my type of vehicle but you see that a lot of work went into the design and build.
