The Jaguar F-Type Coupe is the latest “darling” of the automotive journalists and car enthusiasts everywhere. I reviewed the F-Type Roadster last year and I really liked it, but I’ve been really looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the Coupe (which should happened early December, fingers crossed). I’m personally more of a fan of coupes over convertibles, and I’m in the minority.
I’m sure you’ve seen lots of video reviews of the F-Type Coupe, especially the “R” with 550 horsepower. To most of us mere-mortals, 550 ponies are more than enough, but the guys at Hennessey Performance weren’t satisfied with that number, so they got to work and present us the “HPE600” upgrade package for supercharged V8 F-Types.
You probably guessed what the “600” stands for, 600 horsepower, you’d be half correct with that answer. The Hennessey tuned F-Type R HPE600 produces a whopping 623 HP at 6,200 rpm and 568 lb-ft. of torque! That’s an increase of 73 HP and 64 lb-ft. of torque. Oh and does this thing ever sound good, check out the video below and crank up your speakers.
The increased horsepower is achieved by upgrading the car’s software, supercharger pulley, and the intercooler. The HPE600 F-Type R does the 0-60 mph sprint in an impressive 3.5 seconds and reaches the quarter mile in 11.4 seconds at 126 mph. Hennessey also throws in a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty.
