Sony introduces a brand new, waterproof smart phone called the Xperia ZR, just what’s needed at those crazy pool parties Unfinished Man throws every summer; this is exactly what we needed. We were thinking of waterproofing our phones with Liquipel but now we don’t need no stinking Liquipel.
The Sony Xperia ZR is an updated/upgraded version of their popular Xperia Z smart phone, and like that phone, the ZR also runs on Android. The phone is water resistant to 1.5 meters, about 5 feet, in fresh water and can be submerged for up to 30 minutes. The Xperia ZR comes with a 4.6” touchscreen, a 13 megapixel camera, and can shoot 1080p videos. The phone is powered by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Pro quad-core processor, and 4G LTE.
Sony didn’t provides us any information on prices on the Xperia ZR, I’m guessing $500+; the phone will be available later this year. Via: Sony
