When the temperature starts to climb, there’s no where more refreshing than the beach.
The beautiful warm waves splashing over you… the seagulls stealing food… the scalding hot sand tormenting your feet as you make a run for the bathroom. Ah, beaches… how I miss you. You see, where I live, the closest thing we have to a beach is a toxic mound of sand on a polluted river. No, it’s nothing like these incredible long exposure photographs by the very talented David Orias.
A Wave of Awesome Photography
If you remember way, way back to 2010, you may remember that I posted up a fantastic set of long exposures by a fellow named Michael Wesely. Since then I’ve kept an eye out for the impressive ones, and what you see below is most certainly an impressive collection. Unlike Wesely’s, these weren’t exposed for years, but they look fantastically inviting none the less.
These photos were all taken at a beach in Southern California, but they look a lot like Hawaii to me. Why do I say that? Well, I’m a bit of an expert on the subject. You see, I was in Hawaii once… in my mothers belly. Yeah.
I’m going to stop blathering now and simply let you enjoy the rest of the collection. At the end I’ll give you the details on where to find more of David’s work, and we can touch base in the comments about what you guys think of the set as well.
As always, I’ve only included a very small sampling of David’s work. Photographers like David work hard to come up with these incredible pieces of art, so you should go check out the entire collection on David’s website. He doesn’t just photograph waves, but you will find a whole lot more oceanic scenery as well.
What did you think? Good, bad, too bright, not wavey enough? Let us know in the comments below.
