The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting spectacle in the United States, where the conference champions from the NFC and AFC do battle to win the Vince Lombardi trophy. Yesterday we saw the Seattle Seahawks rip apart the Denver Broncos to claim victory with a score of 43 – 8, it was quite an embarrassing loss for Denver. I was hoping the Broncos would win because of Peyton Manning and his record setting season, but had a feeling the Seahawks would win.
As big of a sporting event the Super Bowl is, it seems it’s an even bigger event for business and the famous Super Bowl commercials. To me, it seems the championship game is now more about the commercials and big money than football, but that’s the world we live in, everything is all about money.
Now I must admit, the commercials shown at the Super Bowl are some of the funniest and most creative; even if you’re not into football, the commercials are worth watching the game for. Unfortunately, if you don’t live in the USA, chances are your local TV station probably had local commercials instead and you missed out on all the fun. You don’t have to worry though, you can catch most (or all) of them on video sharing websites like YouTube. We’ve also compiled a collection of our favorite commercials from Super Bowl XLVIII (48), although I only picked car commercials, there were way too many other types of commercials and it would take me days to go through them all.
