Swytch – Turn Your Everyday Bike to an Electric Bike

Have a bike that you love but also wish you could use it daily to commute to work but don’t really want to ride that hard and be a sweaty mess?  The Swytch Team, known for their e-bike conversion kit, has just introduced the latest Swytch. The Swytch is the smallest, lightest e-bike kit to turn any regular bike into an electric bike. That means, you can keep your beloved bike and use it for exercise or for commuting for longer ranges and there’s no need to have two separate bikes.

The Swytch is not only a brilliant solution for owning an electric bike, but it is super simple to install. With the Swytch e-bike kit, you get a motor wheel, a power pack, a pedal sensor and a bracket. The motor wheel comes in different sizes and you can choose which size you need.  The Swytch hub motor is high torque and can pull the average adult up a 30° incline without pedaling.  The lithium ion power pack is lightweight and powerful with a 250W lithium-ion cell. It can last up to 50km on a single charge and can be fully charged in 3 hours. The Swytch power pack can easily attach and detach to your handlebars and only adds an additional 1.5kg of weight to your bike. The pedal sensor can detect you pedaling, which in turn sends a signal the power pack, which then calculates how much power is needed to deliver to the motor in the front wheel.

The Swytch kit is fully water-proof and can withstand any torrential downpour while commuting. The Swytch is currently crowd-funding on indiegogo.com and comes in three different kits. The Swytch Eco ($521) has a range of 35km, the Swytch Pro ($648) has a range of 50km, and the Swytch Tour ($975) has a range of 100km.
