We’ve written about quite a few luxury motor homes and a handful of amphibious cars, but never an amphibious motor home. I didn’t even know such a thing existed or there was even a market for it.
The amphibious motor home is created by a company called CAMI (Cool Amphibious Manufacturers International) and is called the Terra Wind. The Terra Wind would definitely be the choice camping vehicle of a guy name James Bond.
On the surface (and inside), the Terra Wind motor home looks like any other motor home. It features a living space, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and of course furniture, big screen TV, and other gadgets likes GPS navigation, navigational charts, internet, and computers; everything you need to go on a cross country trip. But what sets it apart is its aluminum-hull that lets it “swim” in rivers and lakes.
On the road, the Terra Wind can hit speeds of up to 80 mph and on the water, it can go up to 7 knots; not very fast on the water but considering it is a motor home, I think it’s pretty impressive.
The Terra Wind can be customized to customers’ preferred layouts and materials, it has starting price of $650,000. Via: CMI
