Today I was going to take a bit of a break. Things have been rather hectic around here, and I figured one day relaxing and playing Bioshock: Infinite wouldn’t hurt any. I mean, you guys can live without me for just one day, right? Well, fortunately (or unfortunately) for you, I just couldn’t stay away. No, the moment I saw this trailer for Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall, I just knew I had to share it with you.
For those of you that haven’t played Dishonored yet, I suggest you skip this one. It won’t really spoil much for you, but it also won’t make a whole lot of sense. Instead, I suggest picking up a copy of Dishonored and playing the ever living shit out of the game. After all, it’s amazing. For the rest of you, read on…
The Knife of Dunwall DLC Trailer
Remember Daud, the shadowy assassin from the final 3/4 of Dishonored? He was a badass, right? Well, looks like we actually get to play as him in the DLC, and after seeing his new moves, I think I might actually like him even better than Corvo. Yes, I just said that.
I’m not exactly sure where they’re going with the story, but it appears to take place both before and after Corvo’s quest for revenge in Dishonored. We saw bits of Daud and his assassin’s killing the Empress, and then the rest was seemingly much later.
Where will they go with this? I haven’t the foggiest, but sign me up – especially after seeing Daud’s new equipment and fighting style. Wrist crossbow? Check. Even more gruesome hand to hand combat? Double check. Dishonored already had some of the most personal, visceral up-close assassination animations that I’ve ever seen, and it seems that the team has only improved on that.
Release Date?
I guess you probably want to play this at some point, right? Well, I’ve got some great news for you then: Dishonored – The Knife of Dunwall comes out on Tuesday, April 16th! Whether you’re reading this before the DLC comes out or after, well… exciting news either way.
