I absolutely love the TED Foundation and the videos they post, especially when they relate to topics that are directly applicable to my life. Many of the videos showcase new breakthroughs in genetics, and quantum physics, and a slew of other interesting but expansive topics, but that’s knot the case with this talk. In this video, we’re shown how to do a simple task that most of us have taken for granted; tying our shoes.
The suggestion that Terry is about to show you is very minor, but believe me… it makes a big difference. I think you’re going to be pleasantly surprised.
The Best Way to Tie Your Shoes
Terry Moore – the director of the Radius Foundation – shows us how a simple change to the standard shoelace knot we learned as children, can result is a much stronger and – more importantly – better looking knot. I tried this knot out while sitting here semi-clothed eating Babybel cheese, and I assure you the knot is both strong and pretty.
Now, I’m going to end this post with an interesting quote that Terry mentions in the video, and one that I feel needs repeating. Sometimes a small advantage someplace in life can yield tremendous results someplace else.
