This Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain gameplay presentation is absolutely terrible and definitely not worth watching, unless of course, you’re a fan of games with incredible gameplay, a deep story, and stunning visuals.
Konami may have released the very last trailer for the game, but apparently that doesn’t extend to gameplay presentations. This one weighs in at just over 40 minutes, and I promise it’s absolutely worth watching. It doesn’t spoil very much, which is great, but it does convey a ton of really cool gameplay mechanics. I don’t know how I can possibly wait until September.
The gameplay mechanics look varied, interesting, and most importantly, fun. The ensemble of buddies, from the seriously sexy Quiet to the lovable D-Walker and D-Dog, appear to be a fantastic way to spice up the gameplay.
Simply put, they look useful… and fun – a quality I’m seeing in spades.
It’s going to be a tough wait between now and September, made all the more difficult with the knowledge that this may be the very last Metal Gear Solid game that Kojima ever releases. My only regret is that I “discovered” the series so late. It’s been around for what, 30 years now? I’ve got a lot of catching up to do in the next few months.
