I know from experience that breaking up is sometimes hard to do. But if you’re looking for a light and fun comedy this weekend, I’d like to recommend “Mantervention.” This movie will make you laugh a lot and maybe even shed a tear or two at the main character’s tender heart.
Mantervention Plot
This film is about Spencer who’s just lost his beautiful girlfriend. He spends some time moping in his bedroom and there are some funny scenes with his mom that you’ll have to see to appreciate. (The best one includes Spencer’s mom picking up used facial tissue all over the floor. She assumes he’s got a really bad cold!) The entire movie is worth watching if only to appreciate the array of incredible women! There’s a sexy cat-like woman and a gorgeous, dark-haired lovely who enjoys playing with toys. You’ll have to see to appreciate. And there are so many humorous and rowdy one-liners about sex, such as one character’s super-size penis.
Ultimately, Spencer hooks up with Kate. They’re both believe in love and, as luck would have it, she’s dealing with the after-effects of her own relationship. The first time they meet, we sense that love will win out.
The stars of “Mantervention”—Nick Roux, Mario Van Peeples, Chloe Bridges, and Travis Van Winkle—are all very attractive people, too. Vince Vaughn, a very popular actor whose star seems to have declined since he fell out with Jennifer Aniston, is also funny. But no doubt you’ve seen the entire cast in many other films and tv shows.
What is Mantervention?
Spencer’s best friend encourages bad behavior as a way to get over his lost love and the fun starts there. The “Mantervention”—or an over-abundance of casual sex and partying—leads Spencer to many new women. He’s encouraged to try many new things, including a funny bit about shaving his pubic hair, but Spencer doesn’t adapt well to being a player. Without taking you through the plot’s twists and turns, Spencer meets another woman and falls for her. (He learns he really isn’t a “club guy” and wants to be in love.)
As you can see, “Mantervention” really is a perfect date night movie! Even though Spencer tries really, really hard (pun intended) to avoid involvement with a new woman, he really is a romantic at heart.
