If you and the lads have some free time on your hands this summer, then why not consider going on a road trip? Nothing brings blokes together like beers in the back of a car. Reckon you fancy it? If so, then here are our top tips for having the best summer road trip possible! Check them out below.
Prepare The Car
The car you are road tripping in is the pinnacle of the trip’s entire existence. You really need to pimp it out if you’re going to have the best possible time! Remember, the weather is going to be hot. With a load of lads in one vehicle, you’ll need to make sure that your AC works. If it’s bust – go out and get it repaired – you’ll 100% need it! Another way to combat the heat in the warm summer weather is to get auto tint. Auto tinting stops the sun from increasing interior surface temperatures. This basically means that your car won’t feel like a sauna when you jump in after a day of activities.
Finally, ditch the Sat Nav and put the cigarette lighter socket to better use – get an in-car mini fridge to store your cool cans of drink. You can navigate with a real map – it’s fine! Also, if you manage to find a mini fridge big enough, then you can house a load of snacks in there too. There’s no need to pay extortionate gas station prices now! One finally ingredient that every roadtrippers’ car needs is a banging sound system and some absolute tunes to play through it. So, get your DJ mate to sort out a playlist and pass him the AUX cable!
Know Where To Visit
Don’t necessarily plan your route, because that takes part of the fun out of going on a road trip. One of the best bits about them is that you’re being spontaneous, and you have the freedom of the roads to take you anywhere! However, obviously, you want to hit some landmarks along the way. No idea where to stop off at? Check out our post on the eight places that you just have to visit in the UK. If you’re doing a cross country route, then you might find more cool places to go to. If you’re heading from north to south, or vice versa, then the majority of the route is going to be anonymous motorways. This is great if you’re in a hurry. However, on a road trip, you just want to be casually cruising along, not having to concentrate too much on what lane to be in, or what exit to take. Just a suggestion!
Hopefully, these tips will help you and your mates enjoy an epic road trip! They’re a right laugh, so if you’ve never ventured on one before, then we definitely recommend it. If you’ve got any more tips for our readers, then please do share them in the comments section below. Enjoy, gents.
