At one point in history, station wagons were like minivans, they were the car to get if you had a family or lots of stuff to haul around, and they weren’t very cool. With the introduction of the minivan and SUV/CUV’s, sales took a dive and there aren’t many car makers selling these versatile cars; in fact, there are no American or Japanese car makers selling these in North America.
However, there are still some European car makers that sell these practical vehicles, and the new breed of station wagons are actually pretty cool and some of them can be very powerful. There is a loyal following of modern luxury station wagons (of course the European aren’t going to call them station wagons, these are called “Estates” and other such names).
BMW makes a wagon version of their popular 3-Series car and there are tuners that actually make these wagons even sportier. Tuningsuche presents the BMW 328i Touring, which gets a bit of power boost and an aesthetic overhaul.
The 328i’s computer software has been tinkered with to increase power from 245 PS to 316 PS and increased torque from 350 pound-feet to 440 pound-feet. On the outside, the most noticeable thing is the bright color, which comes courtesy of Satin Canyon Copper wrap by Putscher Car Wrapping. The exterior also features Alcantara side mirrors and the BMW badge has also been covered in the same material, I’m personally not a big fan of this little addition.
The car also features a blue chin spoiler and side sills. The rear of the car has also been upgraded, with 335i-style exhaust tips and a custom diffuser. The BMW 328i Touring rides on 20″ BBS wheels and features an adaptive coilover suspension. Via: Tuningsuche
