Underground Bunkers: Should You Build Yours?

A few years ago, underground bunkers were unusual, except among the super-rich. They could afford to spend fortunes prepping for and installing bunkers in their homes after all. However, today, bunking underground is not all about doomsday stories and bomb-proof bunkering. You need bunkers to protect yourself and your family when the storm hits. Another person might need a bunker because it’s cool and safe to have a panic room. Whatever the reason might be, most of us need underground bunkers. The question is, should you build your own bunker, or have professionals do it for you? That’s the big debate.

When you shouldn’t build your Bunker
Before you even think about building your own underground bunker, ask yourself this: do you have the money, the time, the energy, the labor and most importantly, the expertise that you’ll need to complete your bunker? If the answer to all this is yes, then go ahead. If you really need the bunker, go right ahead and start your excavation and installation.

If the answer is no to any of those questions is no, then you need to backtrack on the plans. Underground bunkers are long and complicated projects, and they need to be done right if they’re going to be worth anything. If you don’t have the money to build one, save up. Get the labor and find the time. Also, call yourself an expert before you start moving anything around. Building an underground bunker takes a lot of factors into account- air ventilation, escape routes, the water source- and burns through cash, so it would be better to call a professional bunker construction team if you don’t have the expertise.

On the other hand, if building a bunker sounds like something you can do, go for it. Build your own. It will be cheaper, still be as safe and even better- still be secret in case you need it to be.
