Whether you enjoy their games or not, Epic Games certainly does one thing right – graphics engines. I’ve played their games since Unreal Tournament first hit the scene, and each game has seen a significant graphical overhaul over its predecessor. What you see above is simply a tech demo showcasing the might of Unreal Engine 3, but rest assured, you’ll see this engine in use at some point down the road.
Despite that what’s being shown isn’t actually a real game, I’m very happy with the atmosphere Epic has been able to create using this awesome technology. The style and lighting remind me of a modernized version of Blade Runner, and that’s a good thing. I hope that someone actually makes a game using this engine and a similar environment to what we see in the video.
