Yay! Here’s another one of those “sporty” CUV/SUV things that are neither practical nor off-road capable, prime example of such vehicles would be the BMW X4/X6 and the new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. The saving grace of the vehicle I’m currently talking about is that at least it isn’t called a “coupe”. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Volvo S60 Cross Country.
The S60 Cross Country is based on the S60 sedan (see review here) and if the Cross Country name sounds familiar, Volvo has been applying it to jacked up versions of its wagons, but for a sedan it is a first. Volvo is calling this vehicle “the world’s first production crossover sedan”….
The S60 Cross Country sits 2.5” higher than the sedan and is offered with 18 and 19 inch wheels. The vehicle will come with AWD and will be offered with FWD in select markets. Under the hood is Volvo’s T5 turbocharged engine producing 250 horsepower and in Europe, the Cross Country will also be offered with a D4 diesel engine producing 190 horsepower.
The Volvo S60 Cross Country corssover sedan will make its official debut at the Detroit Auto Show.
This is NOT the 1st CrossOver sedan. Subaru made an Legacy Outback sedan a few years ago
Volvo’s word…
