Lasers… are pretty damn cool. I don’t think there’s anyone on this planet or elsewhere that doesn’t enjoy the seemingly endless uses of lasers. We can read data with them, correct poor eyesight, and even make stunning, intricate artwork with the help of LasX’s LightGuide software.
By popping a CAD file into the computer controlled laser system, illustrators like Andy Gikling can create laser etched artwork rapidly and in a stunning fashion.
I know above image doesn’t look terribly exciting, but just wait until you see this laser in action. The future of art creation is… bright.

Though only 42 of these were produced, you can contact the Dow Art Gallery in Minneapolis to see if any are still available. Buying one of the pre-made works of art is probably a lot less expensive than buying one of these laser inscribing machines.
