Working Out With No Results? Here’s Why

Even though many won’t admit it, most men wish they had better bodies. Either they want to be slimmer or, more likely, pack on some more muscle. This desire is essentially set within our evolutionary code. Men are precoded to want to be strong and fit, looking after their pack. Even though the world is no longer like this, that desire certainly still exists.

The problem is that putting on muscle and getting ripped isn’t quite as easy as most people think. It’s possible that you can eat right and never see any change to your body. Similarly, you can exercise nonstop every day and never notice a long term effect. If you are currently facing problems like this, here’s what might be going on.

Mad Metabolism

One of the biggest issues could be with your metabolism. Some skinny guys have a metabolism that allows them to burn food quickly meaning that they never put on weight. Unfortunately, this also makes putting on any muscle difficult too. The food is burned so fast that the body does not gain any of the good stuff it needs. To change this, you need to alter your metabolism. One way to do this is to start eating a heavy breakfast. If you’re skipping breakfast, you won’t be doing yourself any favors health wise. Breakfast is the first meal of the day and gets your metabolism firing on all cylinders. You might also want to think about eating more and upping that dose of calories.

The Right Exercise

There are two reasons why exercise might not be giving you the muscles you desire. It’s possible that you’re not completing the right forms of exercise in the right way. For instance, if you anchor your feet will completing sit-ups they could be a lot easier because you’ll be using your leg muscles to lift. That will mean that you could do a hundred sit-ups and you still won’t get that six pack. In fact, since this exercise pushes things outward you could develop a beer belly instead.

What you should be doing is crunches without anchoring your feet. That way, you can get all the benefits without the accidentally making things easier.

Wrong Food

It’s possible that the reason you’re not getting the muscle is because you’re missing out some of the key ingredients from your diet. To build muscle, you need protein. To get protein, you have to eat a lot of meat. This can be a) expensive and b) unpleasant. Most people feel sick if they change their diet to include more protein too suddenly. Instead, you should think about using the best protein powder on the market. That way, you can easily get the nutrients your body needs and avoid eating a steak every night.

Too Much

Last but not least, it’s possible that you’re exercising too often, thereby burning off any muscle that you put on. The key is to balance the food intake with the the amount of exercise. So, if you’re only eating an average amount of food, you shouldn’t be doing more than three lots of intense exercise a week.
